FA Cup time again!
FA Cup 4th Round
Chorley vs. Wolverhampton
Chorley sit 9th in the National League North which is the 6th tier of English football. Chorley beat Derby County 2-0 in the last round and have since won 1 and lost 1 of their games. Wolves beat Palace 1-0 in the last round and have lost both their games since. Chorley are the team in better form and Wolves will find it tough to play in a small stadium and sub standard pitch. Can Chorley cause a massive upset or will Wolves manage to win.
Southampton vs. Arsenal
Southampton beat Shrewsbury during the week having had the initial fixture postponed, while they beat Liverpool and lost to Liecester. Arsenal beat Newcastle 2-0 in the last round and have since drawn and won a game each. This should be an interesting game and Arsenal are the holders. Arsenal are in good form but Southampton have been impressive this season, the result can go either way.
Brighton vs. Blackpool
Brighton beat Newport on penalties in the last round have since won and lost a game each. Blackpool beat West Brom on penalties in the last round and have since drawn their only game. Brighton are the better team in a better league and should win this game but Blackpool will feel they have nothing to lose.
Sheffield United vs. Plymouth Argyle
Sheffield United beat Bristol Rovers 2-3 in the last round and have since won and lost a game each in the league. Plymouth beat Huddersfield 2-3 in the last round and drew and won a game in each in the League One since as they sit 11th. Sheffield United should win this game as they have looked better in recent weeks.
West Ham vs. Doncaster
West Ham beat Stockport 0-1 in the last round and have since won both their league games as they take on Doncaster who beat Blackburn 0-1 in the last round and have won both their games in League One as well as they sit 4th. Doncaster are a team in good form at the moment and should cause West Ham problems but one would expect West Ham and Moyes to reach the next round.
Cheltenham vs. Man City
Cheltenham beat Mansfield 2-1 in the last round and have since drawn both their games as they sit 6th in League Two. City beat Birmingham 3-0 in the last round have since won all three of their games having not conceded any goals. City should easily dispatch of Cheltenham in this round.
Fulham vs. Burnley
An all Premier League clash as Fulham take on Burnley. Fulham beat QPR 0-2 in the last round and have since drawn 1 and lost 2 in the league although those losses came to Chelsea and United in games that were very close. Burnley beat MK Dons on penalties in the last round have since lost 2 and won 1 game and that win came against Liverpool at Anfield as they ended their unbeaten run. This should be an interesting game and the result can go either way.
Brentford vs. Leicester
Brentford beat Middlesbrough in the last round 2-1, and have since one their only game as they take on Leicester who beat Stoke 0-4 in the last round and have since won both their games in the Premier League. Two teams that sit 3rd in their respective leagues and are in brilliant form. This should be a high quality game with the either team making it to the next round.
Man United vs. Liverpool
Man United beat Watford in the last round 1-0 and have since won 2 and lost 1 of their games in the league and the draw happened to be against Liverpool. Liverpool beat Aston Villa’s kids 1-4 in the last round and have since drawn and lost 1 as they go through a dismal run of form having not scored in their last 4 league games. All United need to do is score a goal as they face a Liverpool side which just can’t manage it at the moment. United the favourites heading into this fixture.
Everton vs. Sheffield Wednesday
Everton beat Rotherham 2-1 in the last round and have since won their only game in the league as they take on Sheffield Wednesday who beat Exeter 0-2 in the last round and haven’t played since. Everton should beat Wednesday in a comfortable game.
Wycombe vs. Tottenham
Wycombe beat Preston 4-1 in the last round as they welcome Tottenham who beat Marine 0-5 in the last round and have since drawn and won a game. Wycombe are at the bottom of the Championship and while surprises are always possible, Mourinho and co should win this.
La Liga MW 20
Villarreal take on Huesca, Sevilla welcome Cadiz, Real Sociedad entertain Real Betis, Real Madrid travel to Alaves, Barcelona travel to Elche, and Atletico take on Valencia. Atletico are still clear of the rest and should be for some time as they look like the only team in Spain capable of consistent form. The rest are playing catch up with Zidane under pressure after the dismal Copa Del Rey exit during the week. Barcelona are managing to win games but Koeman is far from reassuring.
Serie A MW 19
Roma take on Spezia looking for revenge after their Coppa Italia exit, Inter travel to Udinese, Milan entertain Atalanta in a tricky game, Juventus take on Bologna, Napoli travel to Verona, and Lazio take on Sassuolo. The Milan’s still leading the pack in Italy with the rest well behind. Juventus will want to return to winning form while Inter will feel they can go level with Milan if Atalanta manage to get a result. A close race.
Bundesliga MW 18
Monchengladbach take on Dortmund, Leverkusen take on Wolfsburg, Leipzig travel to Mainz, and Bayern travel to Schalke. Leipzig and Bayern have a chance to extend their lead at the top of the table as they play slightly weaker teams than the rest. Dortmund will want to return to winning ways but Monchengladbach are tough opposition who themselves want to enter the top four.
Ligue 1 MW 21
PSG take on Montpellier, Monaco take on Marseille, Lille travel to Rennes, and Lyon travel to St.Etienne. Lyon could be the big winners this weekend if results go their way with the top teams playing each other. PSG could also gain a lead at the top but Montpellier are a tricky customer.
