Premier League MW 17

Brentford Postponed Man United

This game was postponed due to Covid.

Norwich 0 vs. 2 Aston Villa

Jacob Ramsey scored in the first half and Ollie Watkins added a 2nd in the 2nd half to seal a comfortable win for Gerrard and Villa. Norwich remain bottom of the table 3 points from the relegation zone but teams above them have games in hand so the gap could grow. Villa move up to 10th in the table with the win as Gerrard continues to impress.

Man City 7 vs. 0 Leeds

Foden, Grealish, and De Bruyne scored in the 1st half to give City a 3 goal advantage. Mahrez, De Bruyne, Stones, and Ake got a total of four goals in the 2nd half to give City a big win against Leeds. City remain a point clear of Liverpool at the top of the table and go four points clear of Chelsea who sit 3rd. Leeds drop down to 16th but have a game in hand at the moment.

Brighton 0 vs. 1 Wolverhampton

Saiss scored in the 46th minute to give Wolves the lead and Wolves held on to it as Brighton lost. Brighton drop down to 13th in the table and once again have not won any game in a long time. Wolves move up one place into 8th in the table and end a winless run themselves. 

Crystal Palace 2 vs. 2 Southampton

Zaha scored in the 2nd minute to give Palace the lead but Ward-Prowse equalised for Southampton in the 32nd minute. Broja gave Southampton the lead in the 36th minute and Southampton felt they would get the win but Ayew equalised in the 65th minute and Palace and them shared the point. Palace move up one place in to 11th while Southampton also move up one place into 15th. 

Burnley Postponed Watford

This game was postponed due to Covid.

Arsenal 2 vs. 0 West Ham

This was a big game in the context of the top four race and Arsenal finally delivered in a big game by beating West Ham. Martinelli scored in the 48th minute to give Arsenal the lead. Coufal was sent off for West Ham in an unfair decision in the 67th minute. Smith Rowe sealed the deal in the 87th minute. Arsenal move into 4th in the table a point above West Ham who drop out of the top four into 5th as they go through a run of poor form.

Leicester Postponed Tottenham

This game was postponed due to Covid.

Liverpool 3 vs. 1 Newcastle

Newcastle got the lead in the 7th minute via Shelvey but Liverpool were always going to come back into the game. Jota scored in the 21st minute, Salah scored in the 25th minute to complete the come back. Trent got the cherry with the third goal in the 87th minute. Liverpool remain 2nd a point behind City and now 3 points clear of Chelsea. Newcastle remain 19th in the table and 3 points from safety. 

Bundesliga MW 16

Bayern beat Stuttgart 0-5, Frankfurt beat Monchengladbach 2-3, Dortmund beat Furth 3-0, Leverkusen drew with Hoffenheim 2-2, and Leipzig drew with Augsburg 1-1. Bayern remain 6 points clear of Dortmund at the top of the table with Leverkusen and Hoffenheim completing the top four. Frankfurt sit 7th in the table, Leipzig sit 9th in the table. Bayern in full control at the moment.
