Final weekend before another international break..
Premier League MW 11
Southampton vs. Aston Villa
14th placed Southampton take on 15th placed Aston Villa. Southampton are unbeaten in their last three while Villa have lost their last four. Dean Smith is in a precarious situation at the moment and he could face the sack over the international break if Villa do not get a positive result. Southampton are doing well and should be favoured going into this game.
Man United vs. Man City
The Manchester Derby to kick off an exciting Saturday of football. Ole and United sit 5th in the table and have one win in their last 5 which came last weekend against a very poor Spurs team. United have since played in the Champions League where they struggled to a draw against Atalanta. City go into this game sitting 3rd and having lost last weekend to Palace. For any other manager this would be a must win game but if Ole can lose to Liverpool and not get sacked then I doubt a loss to City would do it. For City they will want to bounce back and what better way than to beat your city rivals. An interesting game indeed.
Crystal Palace vs. Wolverhampton
13th placed Palace are unbeaten in their last five but only win came in the last game against Man City. Wolves sit 7th in the table and are also unbeaten in their last five having won four of those games. It should be a fun game to watch between two teams that are playing well.
Brentford vs. Norwich
Brentford sit 12th in the table and have lost their last three as they take on Norwich who sit bottom of the table with 2 points and no wins. Brentford are looking to bounce back before the international break and there is no better way to do it than against Norwich who look extremely poor at the moment. Farke is also a manager under pressure and it will be interesting to see whether a loss sees him leave the club.
Brighton vs. Newcastle
Brighton sit 8th and are winless in their last 5 although only one of those games is a loss as they take on 19th placed Newcastle who are yet to win a game and are without a permanent manager with the search ongoing. Similar to Brentford this is a good chance for Brighton to return to winning ways going into the international break.
Everton vs. Tottenham
Everton sit 10th in the table having lost their last three games and Benitez’s honeymoon period seems to be over. Tottenham sit 9th having lost their last two and last weekends loss to United was enough to see Nuno get sacked. The one to come in is none other than Antonio Conte and as a Chelsea fan that will be hard to see although having Tuchel in charge softens the blow. Conte will look to give the players a lift and one of the most important things will be to get Harry Kane firing. A fun game to watch indeed.
Leeds vs. Leicester
Leeds finally won their 2nd game of the season last weekend as they sit 17th in the table. Leicester sit 11th but lost last weekend ending an unbeaten run. It should be an open game and both teams will want to head into the international break with a win.
Arsenal vs. Watford
Arsenal sit 6th in the table and are on a great unbeaten run as they take on Watford who sit 16th in the table and have only won one of their last 5 games. It’s a London Derby so it should be a fun game to watch but Arsenal will for sure be favourites unless Ranieri can pull something off.
West Ham vs. Liverpool
A fun game to end the weekend as 4th placed West Ham take on 2nd placed Liverpool with 2 points separating the two teams. West Ham have won their last three games in a row while Liverpool have only won 2 of their last 5 games having drawn against Brighton last weekend. It’s going to be a great game for the neutrals with two inform teams and both able to concede goals as well.
La Liga MW 13
Barcelona travel to Celta Vigo, Real Madrid welcome Rayo Vallecano, Villarreal take on Getafe, Atletico travel to Valencia, Real Sociedad travel to Osasuna, and Sevilla travel to Real Betis. Real Sociedad, Real Madrid, Sevilla, and Atletico make up the top four with the latter three having a game in hand over Sociedad. Barcelona have a lot of catching up to do while Villarreal and Valencia are also struggling. An interesting weekend and most of the teams should win their games.
Serie A MW 12
Juventus take on Fiorentina, Atalanta travel to Cagliari, Roma travel to Venezia, Napoli take on Verona, Lazio take on Salernitana, and Milan take on Inter in a derby. Napoli and Milan are 7 points ahead of the rest while Inter sit 3rd but need to catch up. Roma will want to bounce back after some poor results in recent weeks while Atalanta and Lazio are looking to break into the top four. Juventus sit 9th and have catching up to do.
Bundesliga MW 11
Monchengladbach travel to Mainz, Bayern take on Freiburg, Wolfsburg take on Augsburg, Dortmund travel to Leipzig, and Leverkusen travel to Hertha Berlin. Bayern lead the pack but play 3rd placed Freiburg this weekend while Dortmund also face a tough test against Leipzig. An interesting weekend ahead in Germany but Bayern are still the team to beat.
Ligue 1 MW 13
Lille welcome Angers, PSG travel to Bordeaux, Marseille take on Metz, Monaco travel to Reims, and Lyon travel to Rennes. PSG sit 8 points clear with the rest playing catch up. The league is a foregone conclusion at the moment.
