Big weekend of football before the break!
Premier League MW 3
Man City vs. Arsenal
9th vs. 19th as Arsenal travel to the Etihad to play Champions City. Arsenal are looking for their first goal and points of the season after having lost the first two games. City thrashed Norwich last week and are hoping to replicate the result with three points against the Gunners. Arsenal might have beaten West Brom in the Carabao Cup but City should win this game comfortably.
Newcastle vs. Southampton
Newcastle sit 18th in the table and are looking to get their first points of the season as Southampton head to to Tyneside looking for their first win. Southampton fought hard against Man United but Newcastle have some quality players as well and on paper not much separates the two sides. This should be an open game but the key will be who scores first. The result could go either way.
Brighton vs. Everton
Brighton have 2 wins in 2 and sit 4th in the league while Everton sit 7th. Brighton have looked good so far and Benitez has got Everton ticking as well. Two opposing styles of football as well which should deliver some goals. This will be a close game but with Brighton at home I think they could edge the result.
West Ham vs. Crystal Palace
Another London derby this weekend as West Ham sit top of the league and entertain 14th placed Palace. Palace got up and running last weekend but are very much a work in progress at the moment. West Ham are ticking on all fronts under Moyes and have everything going their way. This should be a win for West Ham.
Norwich vs. Leicester
Bottom of the table Norwich City take on 12th placed Leicester who have won one and lost one. Norwich have had a tough start having played Liverpool and Man City and Leicester are no cake walk either. I think the tough start will continue for Norwich but they stand a good chance of getting something out of this game. Leicester will not want to lose more points so early in the season.
Aston Villa vs. Brentford
Villa sit 10th having returned to winning ways last weekend as they take on Brentford who sit 8th and are yet to lose. Brentford failed to score last weekend in a boring draw but will want to get back to winning ways. Villa are no push over though and are beginning to get going. This could be a brilliant game of football and we could see some great end to end action. With Villa at home I think Brentford will find it tough but they will fight for the points.
Burnley vs. Leeds
Burnley sit 17th in the table with no wins while Leeds sit 15th in the table with one point and still looking for their first win as well. Leeds are yet to get going but Burnley away with their physicality will be tough. Add to that the fans and Leeds will have to work their socks off which they always do. I feel like this game could be another draw but Burnley could have some chances on the counter.
Tottenham vs. Watford
5th placed Spurs have had a solid start as they take on Watford who sit 11th in the table. Spurs and Levy won the Kane war and have managed to keep him for another season which should see them stand a better chance in challenging for positions this season. Watford have had a decent start but this should be a tough trip. With Kane back and settled once again I can only see one winner.
Wolverhampton vs. Man United
Wolves are looking for their first win and sit 16th as they entertain Man United who sit 6th in the table and drew last weekend. Wolves will know that they can get something out of United after Southampton managed it while there is a cloud hanging over United at the moment with Ronaldo to City rumours. The positive for United is that Sancho and Varane could start which should add to their starting XI. United should win on paper but Wolves could get something out of the game.
La Liga MW 3
Valencia take on Alaves, Sevilla travel to Elche, Real Madrid travel to Real Betis, Barcelona take on Getafe, and Atletico take on Villarreal. La Liga is looking like an interesting race this season but out of these teams Villarreal are yet to get going. Mbappe could be joining Real Madrid as well which should be a big boost for their title hopes. There are some tricky fixtures this weekend for Real, Barcelona and Atletico though.
Serie A MW 2
Inter travel to Verona, Lazio take Spezia, Atalanta take on Bologna, Juventus take on Empoli, Napoli travel to Genoa, Roma travel to newly promoted Salernitana, and finally Milan take on Cagliari. Juventus are the team that failed to win their opening game last weekend and now with Ronaldo potentially leaving maybe it will have a positive effect in terms of settling the team. Serie A is an open race this season and every game counts for each team.
Bundesliga MW 3
Dortmund take on Hoffenheim needing a win, Leverkusen travel to Augsburg, Bayern take on Hertha, and Leipzig travel to Wolfsburg. Teams are already dropping points in the Bundesliga and while Bayern are one of those teams it is looking like another canter towards the title. The other teams need to start showing consistency which they fail to do every season.
Ligue 1 MW 4
Lyon travel to Nantes, Marseille take on St.Etienne, Monaco travel to Troyes, Lille take on Montpellier, and PSG travel to Reims. PSG are already clear of the rest and this weekend might be the big weekend where Messi makes an appearance. Monaco were knocked out of the Champions League during the week and need to start winning domestically because it has been a very poor start.
