Meslier scored an own goal in the 64th minute to give Wolves a win in this close game. Wolves move into 11th with the win while Leeds drop into 12th with the loss. Wolves are hitting a decent patch of form at the moment unbeaten in their last 4.
Burnley 0 vs. 0 West Brom
A goalless draw in this game with neither team being able to break the other down although both teams went close during the game. Burnley remain 15th in the table while West Brom remain 19th 11 points from safety.
Liverpool 0 vs. 2 Everton
Everton finally after all these years managed a win at Anfield as they beat their local rivals Liverpool. Liverpool had been in poor form regardless but this was always a big game and Ancelotti set his side up to win. Richarlison scored in the 3rd minute to give Everton the lead while Sigurdsson converted a penalty in the 83rd minute to seal the win. Its 4 successive losses in the league for Liverpool as they sit 6th in the table 5 points from 4th. Everton remain 7th but go level on points with Liverpool. Massive trouble for Klopp while it will be interesting to see if Everton can now kick on for a European spot.
Fulham 1 vs. 0 Sheffield United
Lookman scored in the 61st minute as Fulham got another massive win in their race for survival. Fulham go within 3 points of safety now while Sheffield United remain bottom and 14 points from safety.
West Ham 2 vs. 1 Tottenham
A big London derby in the context of Europe and West Ham came out on top. Antonio scored in the 5th minute to give West Ham the lead while Lingard scored in the 47th minute to double that lead. Moura got one back in the 64th minute but West Ham held on. West Ham go 4th with the win 2 points clear of 5th while Tottenham remain 9th and now 12 points from 4th.
Aston Villa 1 vs. 2 Leicester
Maddison and Barnes scored in the 1st half to give Leicester the lead. Traore got one back for Villa in the 48th minute but Leicester held on. Villa remain 8th in the table while Leicester remain 3rd in the table level on points with United.
Arsenal 0 vs. 1 Man City
Sterling scored in the 2nd minute to give City the lead and City held on for the win even though they had several chances. Arsenal remain 10th in the table while City remain top 10 points clear of United.
Man United 3 vs. 1 Newcastle
Rashford scored in the 30th minute to give United the lead while Maximin equalised for Newcastle in the 36th minute. James and Bruno scored in the 2nd half in quite lucky circumstances to get United the win. Newcastle were the dominant team in the game but just lacked that final pass or shot in the box. United held on and countered. United remain 2nd in the table while Newcastle remain 17th and only 3 points above the relegation zone.
Brighton 1 vs. 2 Crystal Palace
Mateta scored in the 28th minute to give Palace the lead while Veltman scored in the 55th minute to equalise for Brighton. Benteke then came off the bench to grab the winner for Palace in the 95th minute. Palace move into 13th while Brighton remain 16th and end their unbeaten run of form.
La Liga MW 24
Levante beat Atletico 0-2, Real Madrid beat Valladolid 0-1, Barcelona drew with Cadiz 1-1, Villarreal drew with Bilbao 1-1, and Sevilla beat Osasuna 0-2. Atletico remain 3 points clear at the top with a game in hand but the chasing pack are getting closer. Real Madrid, Sevilla, and Barcelona make up the top four. For now the race is between the two clubs in Madrid.
Serie A MW 23
Lazio beat Sampdoria 1-0, Inter beat Milan 0-3 in a big win, Atalanta beat Napoli 4-2, Roma drew with Benevento 0-0, and Juventus beat Crotone 3-0. Inter go 4 points clear at the top of the table as Conte and team take advantage of Milan’s drop in form. Juventus go 3rd 4 points behind Milan while Roma drop into 4th. Atalanta, Lazio, and Napoli make up the top 7. Inter build on their advantage as they now sit in the driving seat with 15 games to go.
Bundesliga MW 22
Frankfurt beat Bayern 2-1, Mainz beat Monchengladbach 1-2, Dortmund beat Schalke 0-4, Leverkusen drew with Augsburg 1-1, Leipzig beat Hertha Berlin 0-3, and Hoffenheim beat Werder Bremen 4-0. The Bayern loss sees their lead at the top cut down to 2 points with Leipzig taking advantage. Wolfsburg and Frankfurt make up the top four with Leverkusen and Dortmund sitting 5th and 6th. Dortmund sit 6 points outside the top four.
Ligue 1 MW 26
Lyon beat Brest 2-3, Lille beat Lorient 1-4, and Monaco beat PSG 0-2. Lille go 3 points clear at the top of the table with Lyon moving into 2nd. PSG drop down to 3rd while Monaco move to within 2 points of PSG in 4th. It’s an interesting race in France after a very long time.
