Title race blown wide open.

Premier League MW 19

Fulham 1 vs. 1 Wolverhampton

After a dreary first half Fulham got the lead in the second via Sessegnon in the 74th minute. Wolves though had been playing well and they replied back with a goal from Saiss five minutes before full time. Fulham move up one place into 19th while Wolves remain 10th in the league.

Burnley 1 vs. 5 Everton

After getting thrashed by Spurs during the weekend Everton did some thrashing of their own as they walloped Burnley. Mina, Sigurdsson, Richarlison, and a Digne double provided goals for the Toffees while Gibson got a consolation goal for Burnley. Burnley remain 18th while Everton climb up to 8th with the win. 

Crystal Palace 0 vs. 0 Cardiff City 

A close game that no one edged as both teams played out a boring draw. Palace are 14th while Cardiff remain 17th in the table.

Leicester 2 vs. 1 Man City

Leicester made it two out of two in the beating champions category as they followed up their win against Chelsea with a win against City. Much like Palace City took a lead  in the 14th minute via Bernardo Silva but Albrighton scored in the 19th minute to level things. The game looked to be heading for a draw but a Pereira screamer in the 81st minute sealed three points for Leicester and inflicted City’s third defeat of the season. City are not having the greatest festive period having lost 3 of their last 4 games. Leicester move up to 7th with the win while City drop down to 3rd, a point behind Spurs and 7 behind Liverpool.

Liverpool 4 vs. 0 Newcastle

This Christmas period keeps getting better for Liverpool as they seem to have found their gear from last season. Lovren, Salah, Shaqiri, and Fabinho all scored to round of a comfortable win against Newcastle and increase Liverpool’s lead at the top to 6 points. Newcastle remain 15th with the loss. 

Man United 3 vs. 1 Huddersfield

Ole continues to instil confidence in the United players as the Red Devils made it successive wins in the league. Matic opened the scoring in the first half before Pogba added two more in the second. Zanka did get a consolation goal for Huddersfield. United remain 6th but only 6 points behind Arsenal while Huddersfield drop to the bottom of the table. 

Tottenham 5 vs. 0 Bournemouth

Tottenham have now scored 11 goals in two games as they thrashed Bournemouth 5-0 at Wembley. Eriksen, Son(2), Moura and Kane were the scorers while youngster Walker-Peters provided three assists during the win. Tottenham move into 2nd ahead of City and 6 points behind Liverpool while Bournemouth drop down into 11th. 

Brighton 1 vs. 1 Arsenal

Aubameyang scored in the 7th minute as Arsenal hit the ground running but Brighton held on and Locadia scored in the 35th minute to equalise for Brighton. Arsenal failed to create anymore decent chances during the game and Brighton were happy to settle for the draw as they are 13th in the table. Arsenal remain 5th but now are 2 points behind Chelsea in 4th. 

Serie MW 18

Milan drew with Forsinone, Juventus drew with Atalanta 2-2 in a fiery game, Roma beat Sassuolo 3-1, and Inter beat Napoli 1-0 in the game of the matchweek. Juventus’s lead at the top of the table is reduced to 9 while Napoli, Inter and Lazio make up the top four.
