London Derby time against the Chickens.
Tottenham Hotspur our 4th placed London rivals. Tottenham sit a point behind Chelsea as the season has already had ups and downs for the London side. Tottenham started the season well and have won more games than Chelsea but while Chelsea remained undefeated Spurs have gone on to lose three times in the league. The shock defeat against Watford caused a downturn in performance but in recent weeks Spurs have had a resurgence of sorts. Questions have been raised whether Tottenham peaked in the 16/17 season as they came close to winning the league but lost to Chelsea. Since then they have fallen down the table and this season could very well be the last season that Poch stays in London. Another trophy less season would probably mean players like Kane, Alli, and managers like Poch seek glory elsewhere. Another blemish in Spurs season has been the fact that they still remain without a stadium as the new White Hart Lane suffered delays and might not be finished until later in the new year. Wembley still remains the place where Spurs play their home games but the same fixture last season saw a dramatic winner from Alonso to secure three points for Chelsea.
Chelsea go into the fixture having won 8 and drawn 4 of their 12 games. Sarriball is taking time to be implemented but slowly and steadily it is growing on the players and an unbeaten start has only boosted the players confidence. Expectations that Chelsea might challenge Liverpool and City for the title might be premature as it is Sarri’s first season and a few players need to move on for the team to function at their full capacity. Everton did well to fight for their draw before the International break but the players should be hyped up for this fixture and a game against Spurs is always one to win. The main aim for Chelsea should be to get three points and a loss should be out of the question as it could see us drop down the table.
Chelsea Team Preview
All the players should be available for selection. The question remains who of Barkley, Kovacic, and Loftus-Cheek will start alongside Jorginho and Kante. Willian or Pedro, and Giroud or Morata also remain questions that Sarri will ponder although in my opinion Pedro should start, and Morata should start as well.
Tottenham Team Preview
Tottenham were facing some injuries but the players have returned to fitness in time for the game against Chelsea.
Starting XI Prediction
Spurs finally beat Chelsea tat the Bridge last season and Chelsea should be looking to bounce back with three points from this game. COME ON YOU BLUES!!!
